Perspectives on legalizing Marijuana/ Drugs.

Explain the perspective each would have on legalising marijuana

Here are 3 perspectives...

1. Police

Stuff NZ says-

If cannabis became legal, police would need to know exactly where they stood on their own personal use.
"We cannot have [officers] turning up to work believing they are clean, only to test positive for THC following a critical incident that may have occurred days after use of cannabis," Cahill said.
As for the policing of drug driving, developing a roadside test for cannabis was not as easy as it sounded and was fraught with complications.
These included delays between stopping a driver and taking a blood test, chronic users still testing positive even after 30 days of abstinence, variables in cannabis strength, whether it was inhaled or consumed and the mixing of cannabis with alcohol.
The legalizing drugs election will be taken in 2020.

2. Doctors

Doctors will love to legalize marijuana.

Why?
Cannabis has also been linked to certain mental illnesses. The drug's relationship to depression and anxiety is still up in the air; the science has not established a causal relationship between the two. In other words, it's not clear if people smoke pot because they are depressed and anxious or are depressed and anxious because they smoke pot. There is stronger evidence that heavy use of cannabis can lead to psychosis, especially among people who have a family history of mental illness, Dr. Beck said. However, the vast majority of the research involved people who use cannabis daily. The scientific literature is virtually silent on the mental-health effects of smoking pot now and then.

3. Teenagers

This will be in my point of view.

I think marijuana should be legalized.
Marijuana has it's own affects to pains and everything. I think marijuana or any other drug should only be used when needed that to prescribed from a doctor.
People are just using all this and ruining their own health and it is also affecting their brain.  Their way of thinking, speaking and acting does get affected.

Meth Issue

If I was prime minister of New Zealand I would solve the meth issue in New Zealand by ...

Catching the people that sell Meth and manufacture and put them in jail.

Raid houses that have a huge amount of Meth.

Get the Meth users in a Rehab for as long as they can to get better.

Using Meth is a Class A (very high risk) .

The offence of possession of Meth is..

6 months  imprisonment or $1,000 fine

The offence of supply or manufacture of Meth is..

Life Imprisonment

The offence of possession of instruments for the purpose of taking drugs is..
(eg, a pipe, bong, needles, syringes, spotting knife)

One year imprisonment and/or $500 fine.

All this information can be found on the New Zealand Police Website on Illicit drugs- offences and penalties.

Choose what your actions are going to be very carefully before going into all this mess!!!

Initial Thoughts on the Cannabis Debate

This term we are studying the debate about legalizing  Marijuana in New Zealand.

At this stage in my opinion ...

I'm not sure if Marijuana should be legalized or not.

These are the questions I have.......

1.Are under 18 allowed to smoke  Marijuana?

NO, if a person under 18 years old is seen smoking or possessing cannabis they could be arrested.

2. Why is there gonna be a vote for legalizing and not legalizing Marijuana?

3. What are the contents in Marijuana?

4. Is Marijuana a dangerous drug? If yes then how?

5. Is Marijuana safe around our communities?

Self Efficacy

What have I learnt about Self Efficacy?

I have learnt that Self Efficacy is important in life you need to be able to think the better for you.
If you have high Self Efficacy you know that you are cable of doing anything! :)

If you have low Self Efficacy you know that you aren't cable of doing anything :/

Believe in yourself and have high Self Efficacy is my advice :)

Self Efficacy

One Rule that I like and want to explain about:

Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one.

People these days don't like nerds cause they think they are to smart and if they hang around with them at break times they will be called a nerd's friend. And that they won't be as popular than before or people won't talk to them.

But little do they know is that the people that are nerds they will be more successful than them and that they could be their future boss.

They could be someone really famous in the next few years and you could become a fan of them and then you would remember the times you did bad or said bad to them.

So never think less of anyone cause you never know what the future has in hold for them.
